Title
Surgery in Gray's Inn Road
Description
201 Gray's Inn Road, King's Cross, at the junction with Coley Street, formerly Wilson Street. The nineteenth-century building houses a doctor's surgery, evident from signage in the ground-floor window. Above this is a painted board with directions to the nearby Foundling Hospital; a children's home established by the philanthropist Thomas Coram in 1739. Next door at 203 Gray's Inn Road is a florists, R. Summers, advertising "Wreaths & Crosses, Wedding Bouquets" in its window. Neither buildings are extant; an office block was built on the site in 1991 designed by Foster and Partners and home to ITV and ITN Productions.
