Description
A view of the entrance hall of a grand terraced house at 7 Fitzroy Square, Fitzrovia. The view towards the street shows the stairs on the left with ornate cast iron double spindles ending with a banister spiral at the bottom. The hallway is divided by a wrought iron screen, beside which a sign reads "Press button to open gate". A signboard on the left may indicate the occupants of the building. Sun streams through a fanlight above the double exit doors. Part of a terrace designed by Robert and James Adam and dating from 1792-94, numbers 1, 1a and 2-8 Fitzroy Square and attached railings and lamp holders, were Grade I listed in 1954; listing number 1112991.
