Description
A view of the rear elevation and rear extension of a grand terraced house at 5 Fitzroy Square, Fitzrovia. The extension is just two storeys, the upper of which is hung with slate. The ground-floor has two large Crittall windows while the upper floor has a sash window and a casement window. In the ground are skylights illuminating the floor below. A table and benches are placed on the decking and a number of pot plants are in evidence. Scaffolding has been erected where the extension meets the original four-storey house to the left and a ladder appears against the scaffolding. At ground-floor level behind the scaffolding is a door to the property. Part of a terrace designed by Robert and James Adam and dating from 1792-94, numbers 1, 1a and 2-8 Fitzroy Square and attached railings and lamp holders, were Grade I listed in 1954; listing number 1112991.
