Description
First-floor rear room at 15 Welbeck Street, Marylebone. The image shows a large room with decorative moulded cornices, a fireplace and wooden fitted and glazed cupboards along the wall with the chimneypiece. Large connecting double wooden doors lead to the first-floor front room. A calendar on the wall shows July and August 1973. Welbeck Street was named after Welbeck Abbey in Nottinghamshire, seat of William Bentinck, 2nd Duke of Portland who owned the area and redeveloped it in the second half of the eighteenth century.
