Description
View of the front elevations of town houses 26-24 Weymouth Street, Marylebone. Number 26 is a simple brick town house and was designed by F. J. Wills, in-house designer for Lyons corner teashops, one of the business interests of the Gluckstein family that ran Bovis Ltd. Vincent Gluckstein, chairman of Bovis Ltd was its first resident between 1928–9. A later occupant was Horace Evans, physician to the royal family, Sir Anthony Eden and Pandit Nehru, who lived and practised at Number 26 in the 1940s and 50s. Number 24 is of stock-brick construction with a triangular pediment facade on the top floor with a circular window. The image shows a policeman walking past number 24 and the elevations of both 22 and 28 Weymouth Street are partially visible.
