Description
Front elevations of terraced houses at 27-31 Upper Montagu Street, Marylebone, looking south west. Part of a terrace of four-storey plus basement, brick-built townhouses. Partial view of number 27 on the left, once the home of cellist Jacqueline du Pre, which is three windows wide. Number 29 is also three windows wide. A street lamp post is visible and parked in the street are an Austin 1300 Countryman and a Fiat 126. The buildings lie within the 270-acre estate granted in 1552 to Sir Henry William Portman, Lord Chief Justice to Henry VIII. Numbers 25-37 were Grade II Listed in 1970; entry: 1274812.
