Description
View northeastwards of the front elevations of 9-10 Northwick Terrace, Westminster. These are four-storey properties over a basement, with stucco at basement and ground floor and brickwork at upper levels. Flights of steps lead up to the two main entrances. Iron railings and a gate surround 10. Number 9 has stucco gate piers and perimeter walls. There is one window on either side of each main entrance. 9 (to the right) lacks some of the original features seen in 10, and it has no fourth storey. There are sash windows of proportioned sizes, the longest being on the first floor, which are decorated above with semicircular stucco bands. Above the second floor there is a cornice, and above 10 (but not 9) there is a mansard with two dormers. A saloon car is parked outside. Northwick Terrace is associated with the author Agatha Christie, who lived at number 5, which was bombed during the war and later rebuilt.
