Houses in Poplar High Street
Front elevations of terraced houses at 292-304 Poplar High Street, Poplar, looking south-west. On the left, at number 304, is a two-storey house with the upper storey rendered and a hanging sign for Mrs. Kurz, a wardrobe dealer advertising second-hand furniture bought sold or exchanged. Next door at number 302 is J. Biddle fried fish shop. Next is a terrace of three-storey, weatherboard clad buildings with a woman standing in the doorway of number 296. On the far right is the side elevation of a four-storey building, probably number 290. All of the buildings have since been demolished and the foreground area is now the location of a residential tower block with a new layout of Preston's Road.
