Title
Vacant site in Ellerthorp Street
Description
Ellerthorp Street, Poplar, seen from Kerbey Street. Part of Kerbey Street can be seen on the left, and rows of terraced houses are visible on the right. The area was heavily bomb damaged during World War II; the vacant site visible on the left became known as Lansbury Development Area. Ellerthop Street no longer exists; it used to run east out of Kerbey Street, connecting Ricardo Street and Willis Street. A modern retail and housing development now stands on the site.
