Title
Building in Libra Road
Description
Front elevation of 85 Libra Road, Bow. The building has a balcony and a metal roller shutter, smashed windows, and a fence in front. The chalk board with a number written on, which can be seen hanging on the fence, indicates that the building was earmarked for demolition. In the late nineteenth century the building served as a Sunday school, and by the middle of the twentieth century it was an electricity substation. It was eventually demolished, like most of the houses in Libra Road, and replaced by Tufnell Court block of flats. The length of Libra Road was reduced.
