Title
Houses and shops in Devons Road
Description
A mix of private housing and shops at 1-9 Devons Road, Bromley-by-Bow. Four stone steps lead up to the front doors of the terraced buildings, which have decorative corbels and small canopies. Ornate iron railings protect access to the basements. A posy of flowers has been placed in the bottom window of the house on the left. Number 5 is a second-hand clothes shop with a poster in the window proclaiming "We want what you don't". These buildings no longer exist, nor is this part of the road still called Devons Road. The site is now occupied by an open space at the foot of Warren House, a tower block located on what is today called Stroudley Walk.
