Buildings in Bromley High Street
Description
View of buildings in Bromley High Street, Poplar, looking south from the junction with Bow Road. The Black Swan pub on the corner, at 148 Bow Road, was rebuilt in 1916 after being bombed in a Zeppelin raid. It had connections with the Kray twins and was demolished in the 1970s when roads were widened in the area. Selby funeral directors still have an office opposite on Bow Road. The newspaper vendor's billboard shows that the photo was taken during the Olympic Games. Pedestrians and light traffic.
