Houses in Westbourne Grove
Description
152-114 Westbourne Grove, Paddington, at the junction with Needham Road. There are roadworks in the foreground close to the junction. There are pedestrians walking on the pavements and cars parked in the road. Numbers 152-122 are four-storey stucco terraces with basements and front gardens. They have continuous balconies with iron balustrades. The Scottish novelist and general practitioner A.J. Cronin lived and practised at number 152 between 1926 and 1930. He is probably best known for writing Dr Finlay's Casebook, a television drama series that was broadcast by the BBC from 1962 until 1971. The Odeon cinema, at the junction with Chepstow Road, is visible in the distance.
