You can find links below to The London Archives (TLA) collections which are available to view on the London Picture Archive, including a large number of prints, maps and photographs.
The London County Council Photograph Library is the largest single collection, providing an incredible record of the capital from the late nineteenth century to the 1970s and including images of thousands of streets. Our Print Collection and Metropolitan Prints Collection provide an extensive resource for images of places and themes prior to (and after) the introduction of photography in the mid nineteenth century. The Christopher Schwarz Photograph Collection brings us back to the late twentieth century, providing a fascinating insight into the Deptford area in the 1970s and 1980s.
Although London Picture Archive provides access to digital copies of many of the images at LMA, there are many more to discover if you visit us. We run a wide variety of talks, guided tours, film screenings, exhibitions and other events, and many of these focus on our image collections.
