View of the central yard of the Beecham Food Ltd works at 19-23 Westferry Road, Isle of Dogs, looking towards Westferry Road and Sufferance Wharf. Beecham Foods Ltd took over C. and E. Morton Ltd jam manufacturers in the 1950s. C. and E. Morton, which opened on the Westferry Road site in 187, was at one time the largest employer on the Isle of Dogs. The buildings likely date from the nineteenth to early twentieth centuries. Barrels, crates and a wooden cart are visible. On the right hand side of the yard there is evidence of World War II bomb damage and a tall chimney is visible. The buildings were later demolished and apartment blocks and their surrounding grounds were built on the site in 2008.
