The derelict former premises of Lyons & Lyons Ltd, drapers at 58 Chrisp Street, Poplar. The double-fronted shop has a rubbish-strewn central passageway leading to a back courtyard behind an iron grill gate. The display windows on either side and the shop fascia are boarded-up. The mechanism for the awning stretching across the whole of the shop front can still be seen. On the first floor, the lower parts of two arched sash windows are missing; the upper glass panes have been smashed. Next door to the right, the Coppen brothers, provision dealers, appear still to be in business. The company name is displayed on an awning blowing in the wind and the shop door is open, giving a glimpse into the interior. These buildings no longer exist. The site is now occupied by a car park.
