Stuccoed terraced houses at 7-9 Queen's Gate, Kensington. Built in 1856-58, Grade II listed in 1969; list entry number 1226082. A Triumph Herald 13/40 convertible and a Fiat 850 are parked to the left. The car on the right is a 1969 Fiat 125S Samantha by Carrozzeria Vignale of Turin. This is one of only 27 right-hand drive models produced. The car was imported by a Greek Cypriot casino tycoon, Frixos Demetriou, who acquired 200 right-hand drive Vignale-Fiats of various models in exchange for a gambling debt. He tried and failed to sell them in London and ended up taking most of them back to Cyprus where he was killed in 1970 when an army tank ran over his Vignale-Fiat while he was still inside.
