Description
Doulton House on Albert Embankment, Lambeth. Doulton House was the headquarters of Doulton & Co. The building, designed by T.P. Bennett in Art Deco style, was constructed in 1939. Doulton House was subsequently demolished in 1978. The distinctive frieze was designed by Gilbert Bayes and depicts 'Pottery through Ages' in coloured stoneware. The panels of the frieze were saved from demolition and now reside in the V&A Museum.
