View of 16-18 Pelham Place, South Kensington. A pair of stucco semi-detached houses built in the 1830s by James Jolley. Grade II listed; entry number 1065846. They are two storey plus basement and have small front gardens with pollarded trees. The large windows have working shutters, and the ground-floor windows have ornate window balconies. The porches have Doric columns and arched windows on either side of the front doors. The roof is pitched and there are many tall chimneys. Number 14 Pelham Place is on the right of the photo. 2-14 Pelham Place is Grade II* listed; listing number 1065845. 8 Pelham Place has a Blue Plaque to commemorate Sir Cecil Beaton, photographer and designer for screen and theatre who lived there between 1940 and 1975.
