Local Arthur's Cafe and shops at the corner of 36-38 Cloudesley Road, Angel, Islington and Cloudesley Place in Barnsbury area, Angel, Islington. Small businesses built as an extensions protruding towards pavement. To the left are the Grade II listed terraced houses of Elizabeth Terrace at 1-21 Cloudesley Place, built in 1821-24. Three storeys over basement, two windows each and panelled front doors with decorative glazing in fanlight. First-floor windows have individual cast-iron balconies. Steps up to arched entrance. Bilboard advertising for Golden Wonder Crisps at a top of building elevation in 22-24 Cloudesley Place. Boy wearing sweter is crossing the road. The cafe and shops no longer exist; they have been replaced by front yards with small gardens, as originally planned in the nineteenth century.
