View of the Two Brewers public house and adjoining properties at 50-62 Southampton Way, Camberwell. The buildings to the left of the pub at 54-62 Southampton Way appear to be of mixed use but their exact purpose is unclear. The Two Brewers public house at 54b Southampton Way is a three storey brick building with signage advertising Watneys Ales and Reid's Stout. Decorative lamps are at each end of the building. A post on the pavement outside the pub carries the pub sign and also a Watneys Ales sign. A single pedestrian is leaning against the pub, looking to camera. Two other people appear to be working outside the pub but the image is blurred and their exact activity is unclear. The premises to the right of the Two Brewers, at 52 Southampton Way, offers boot and shoe repairs with a faded sign across it reading A.Pelham & Son. A four-wheeled wooden horse and cart stand outside the shoe repairers. The Two Brewers was latterly renamed The Brewers and The Eclipse before closing c2012. The building remains to this day but has been refurbished and extended upwards and now functions as office premises. The image is marked 22.6.38.
