Staircase of the house at 1 Laurence Pountney Hill, City of London. It features spiral balusters, and white painted wood panelling fits out the space. A door on the lower floor has a letterbox, and the glass-paned doorway on the upper floor displays etched names of occupants. The house was originally built by the carpenter and master builder Thomas Denning for merchants in 1703, in the Queen Anne style. The pair of houses at 1-2 Laurence Pountney Hill still survives. They were Grade II* listed in 1950; List Entry Number: 1359204.
