Description
A view of Little Britain, City of London, looking west. The area is said to get its name from the occupation of the Dukes of Brittany before the sixteenth century. Booksellers inhabited the street bewteen 1575 to 1725 with the poet John Milton lodging in the street in 1662. A side entrance to St Botolph without Aldersgate can be seen in the foreground on the left. Next to this are the railings of Postman's Park. In the distance are part of St Bartholomew's Hospital buildings.
