View of 15-21 Old Ford Road, Bethnal Green, looking north-west from Victoria Park Square. Monk & Brown occupy numbers 17-19 trading as a Glass Merchants Bevellers and Silverers as sign written on the front elevation. St Margaret's House occupies number 21. The house numbering was altered with the demolition of number 15 as still seen here on the far left hand side. Since the demolition of the original house at number 15 this numbering has been transferred to what was number 17. Nowadays number 15 is Grade II listed, listing number 1241403. Numbers 17-19 are also Grade II listed, listing number 1065101. St. Margaret's House at number 21 was the home of the Bethnal Green Ladies Committee formally opened in 1889. Pioneering work included a Children's Country Holiday Fund, the Metropolitan Association for Befriending Young Servants, visits to hospitals and workhouses, organising sick and relief funds, work for mothers and children and running clubs for girls. St Margaret's House is Grade II listed, listing number 1065102. All these buildings still exist.; the lettering of Monk & Brown has been removed and all the area walls reduced in height.
