View of terraced houses in Norah Street, Bethnal Green, looking north from Florida Street. The street was crossed halfway by Ivimey Street with vehicle access. Norah Street as seen was not accessible by motor cars with bollards to prevent this happening so was a safe road for children and adults to play and walk around in. The Westminster Arms public house is seen at the very far end at 163 Gossett Street. Norah Street was used as a location for a Mother’s Pride bread advert starring English singer Dusty Springfield and can be viewed on You Tube. A masonry plaque on the wall of number 56 has 1884 carved in numerals (not shown). None of these houses still exist and have been replaced by a public park named Pollard Square in the half of street nearest with the second half turned into a housing estate.
