Description
140-176 York Road, Battersea, looking north. A number of shops with advertising signs are visible, including a newsagent and a shop selling soft and alcoholic drinks. Numbers 114-190 York Road were built in the mid-1820s as Ford's Buildings but the site has been redeveloped several times since. The Nag's Head public house at 205 York Road is on the right of the picture, and structures visible in the road beyond it may include the public urinal at the junction with Plough Road. There are people standing in doorways and on the pavements, and horse-drawn carts in the road.
