Description
View of Dickens Estate in Farncombe Street and Bevington Street, Bermondsey, close to Martin Crescent (now Scott Lidgett Crescent). Showing open waste ground, cars parked, and tree-lined pavements with some terrace houses remaining. On left can be seen the remains of the Bermondsey Settlement founded by the Reverend John Scott Lidgett (1854-1953). Spire of Congregational chapel mission hall can be seen on the corner of Janeway Place and Wilson Grove.
