A view of office buildings from Austin Friars, City of London. The building in the centre of the photo is the rear of 26 Throgmorton Street, which was built in the middle of the nineteenth century and was designed as two separate buildings by the architect T. Chatfeild Clarke. These rear elevations are much plainer than the front façades. It was Grade II listed in 1972; listing number 1180599. At the time of the photo, both halves were occupied by Midland International Bank. Since then, additional stories have been added to the building, so the chimney is no longer visible. On the right is 29 Austin Friars, which is one of the entrances to the Drapers Hall. The building on the left is the corner of Austin Friars House.
