A view of 8-10 Temple Avenue, on the corner with Tudor Street, City of London. The corner building was built between 1896 and 1897 and designed by Charles Valentine Hunter. It was built for the Argus Printing Company, which was responsible for the printing of the Financial Times. On the corner of the building is a carved shield carried by a winged Argus. At the time of the photo, the building was occupied by United Newspapers who published Punch and a number of regional newspapers. The building was Grade II listed in 1997; listing number 1375288. A number of Evening News vans are parked in the street outside the United Newspapers offices, though this publication was actually printed across Tudor Street in Northcliffe House. On the street corner on the right is a City of London Police call box.
