View of a building in Aldermanbury Postern surrounded by cleared bombsites. The artist nicknamed it 'the castle' because of its silhouette. Part of a circular water dam is in the left foreground, which had provided firefighters with an emergency water supply during the bombing. Aldermanbury Postern ran between London Wall and Fore Street and has since been built over.
