Description
Exterior elevation of The Ship public house, with pedestrians in the foreground. The building shown here dates from 1772 and was originally named The Centurion. The road names have changed over the years. At the time of painting the pub stood on the corner of Upper Marylebone Street, now part of New Cavendish Street, and Saville Street, now Hanson Street. The current pub was rebuilt in 1887 and is now Grade II listed.
