Description
John Keen (1849-1902) was a champion racing cyclist and bicycle manufacturer, known for his 'Eclipse' bicycle. He built these at various locations in London, this shows his workshop between 1886-1893 on Portsmouth Road to the right of the The Angel Public House, which is still there. A sign can be seen which says 'Keen champion bicyclist, cycle repairs, Portsmouth Road, Long Ditton'. A group of men stand with various bicycles and a girl can be seen in the background.
