This three-quarter view shows the front and side elevations 22 The Embankment, a 1720s two-storey house in the Twickenham Riverside conservation area of Richmond-upon-Thames, taken from the pedestrian alley soon after the house and its adjoining property at number 23 had undergone substantial renovation. Both numbers 22 and 23 were Grade II listed in 1952; respective listing numbers: 1358071 and 1080816. Their brick frontages are set at a slight angle and both have pedimented door surrounds, possibly original. Just visible are local heritage plaques fixed above the doors to both properties. Number 23 has some plants in containers in the alley in front of the house. The white rendered wall of number 22, which faces towards the Mary Wallace Theatre the home of the Richmond Shakespeare Society, has since had four windows of traditional style fitted.
