Description
This view shows a derelict two-storey building in Holly Road, Twickenham, beyond an alley way and terminating in a haphazardly constructed gate or barrier. Most of its roof tiles are shown removed exposing the timbers below, the whitewashed walls are deteriorating and exposing brickwork, and the windows are broken. It is believed to have stood on the site now occupied by the entrance to a car park. The gable-ended roof of a similar building also shown in the background to the right is believed to be a pair of cottages at numbers 29 and 31 Holly Road, dating back to the eighteenth-century, much modified, and incorporated into the Acorn Medical Centre, but nevertheless Grade II listed in 1990; listing number: 1254308.
