Description
Partial view of front elevation of a large detached house at 61 Crystal Palace Park Road, Sydenham, and adjoining fenced garden. The asymmetric neo-gothic Arts and Crafts style houses lining the park side of Crystal Palace Park Road, each of them unique, were designed by John Norton and built in the 1870s and 1880s on land sold off by the Crystal Palace Company to offset its significant debts. Converted into multiple dwellings, they became dilapidated in the 1970s and some were demolished, but most of them, including this one, have been restored.
