View of rear elevation of detached house at 29 Crystal Palace Park Road, Sydenham, with washing on line in the garden. The house no longer exists; Crystal Palace Park car park now occupies its site. It was one of the asymmetric neo-gothic Arts and Crafts style houses lining the park side of Crystal Palace Park Road, each of them unique, designed by John Norton and built in the 1870s and 1880s on land sold off by the Crystal Palace Company to offset its significant debts. Converted into multiple dwellings, they became dilapidated in the 1970s and most of them have been restored, but some, including this one, were demolished.
