View of the garden and neighbouring buildings of the Grade II listed Red House, 13 Upton Avenue, Forest Gate, as seen from an upper storey looking towards houses in Upton Lane. Originally built for a Dutch merchant in the eighteenth century, Red House was re-built in the 1880s and again in the twentieth century. The house later became a Roman Catholic club called St Anthony's Catholic Club in 1933. The building was renovated with funds partly from English Heritage in 2010. Listing number 1031603. In the garden of Red House is a wide lawn with three sets of tables and chairs. At the end of Upton Lane at the junction with St George's Road are 1930s builldings on the site of the former St Angela's Ursuline School in St George's Road. Beyond these are surviving convent buildings in St George's Road.
