A general view of Victoria Fountain, Wanstead, Redbridge, which was erected in 1897 to Queen Victoria to commemorate her Diamond Jubilee. Originally this fountain was at the centre of the junction. Road widening schemes have caused it to be moved a number of times; it currently sits on top of the A12 underpass opposite Wanstead Underground Station. It has a medallion bust on the brick gable, various inscriptions, one in Latin, a drinking fountain and basin below an arch, and an animal drinking trough on the opposite side. The spire and one remaining corner turret can be seen with only brick columns left on corners as of 2019. A woman with a stick and a handbag is crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing showing a "red man" stop light. A row of shops includes one with a large "Burts for Dunlop" advertising board, and a sign above the door saying "Shoreditch Direct Furnishers Ltd". An estate agents' sign is also seen. A saloon car is parked outside the building used to house the former Kinema, which was used as a bingo hall from 1968. This building was demolished in 2015 and replaced with a block of flats and a Marks and Spencer food store.
