A view of the front elevation of a shop building at 4-5 William IV Street, Westminster. The ground floor is the premises of gunmaker Thomas Bland & Sons and the image shows its sign across the fascia and affixed to first-floor railings. The entrance door is shuttered and metal bars cover the display windows. Number 2-3 is boarded up but a sign for a restaurant at the premises can be seen. The building is part of a triangular block dating from 1830-32, designed by John Nash and bounded by William IV Street, Adelaide Street and Strand which was Grade II* listed in 1969; listing number 1237040. Parts of the block were rebuilt in the 1970s by Frederick Gibberd for Coutts Bank.
