Front elevations of 13-15 Tavistock Street, Covent Garden. The street runs parallel to The Strand and was originally part of York Street, which was renamed and renumbered in 1937. The four-storey buildings were erected in the early-eighteenth century and initially used solely for residential accommodation. Alterations were made in the early-nineteenth century to create ground-floor shops. Number 13 has window displays of household goods with an awning over. Number 15 is a restaurant trading as Luigi's with an awning over the ground-floor windows. A pair of bay trees in planters can be seen. Number 13 is Grade II listed, listing number 1066227. Number 15 is also Grade II listed, listing number 1066228. There is a late nineteenth-century, cast-iron street lamp visible, which is Grade II listed, listing number 1066329. There are cars parked in the street; a Fiat 500 and a Chrysler 180.
