Description
A view of the front and side elevations of the Mapleton Hotel at 39 Coventry Street, Westminster. Its entrance is at the curved corner with Whitcomb Street and the hotel extends along both streets at a height of about seven storeys. On the ground floor at 32-38 Coventry Street are shops including Ascotts Camera, Adams, Abbotts shoe shop and a ticket office for the Prince of Wales theatre next door. The building still exists as the Thistle Piccadilly hotel but its entrance has moved to Whitcomb street and the corner site is a sandwich shop.
