A view of 44-45 Carnaby Street, Soho and numbers 13-16 Ganton Street which are four and five-storey buildings with shop fronts. Number 44 Carnaby Street on the corner with Ganton Street is the shoe shop Ravel with its wares and products displayed in its windows. The signs above say 'Chaussures' and 'Fine shoes'. To the left at number 45 is another shoe shop called Shoes by Topper with its shop front displaying an unusual design and shoes displayed in the window. A large vertical sign saying 'Topper' is attached at the first-floor level. Inderwick's tobacconist's shop is also at number 45. Two shop signs hang above and to the side of the shop, one of which contains the silhouette of a smoking pipe and there are two estate agents signs. On the right of the photograph are more shops and an English school at number 13 in Ganton Street. Other features in the scene include two modernist design lampposts each surmounted by two glass globes and coloured geometric shapes on the surface of the pedestrianised street. Pedestrians can also be seen in the scene wearing clothes and hairstyles fashionable in the 1970s.
