Description
Highly decorative fireplace in the first floor of 6-7 Carlton House Terrace, Westminster. The mantle has a pattern with figures, and above this two panels have a relief of a face with figures on either side, framed with pillars. By the ceiling are several decorative panels with different faces and details. At the edge of the wall is another pattern and wood and building materials are on the floor. One of a pair of four-storey terraces of grand town houses, designed by John Nash and Grade I listed, listing number 1209780. Numbers 6-9 became home to The Royal Society in 1967.
