Buckingham Palace Garden, The Mall, Westminster. The garden is the private park attached to the London residence of the monarch and occupies a 42 acre site, making it the largest private garden in London. Its design dates back to George IV’s conversion of Buckingham House into Buckingham Palace in 1825. William Townsend Aiton, who was in charge of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, oversaw the remodelling of the grounds in 1825-26. The Garden is Grade II* listed, listing number 1000795. The 29-storey skyscraper, Portland House, can be seen in the background.
