Front elevations of 18-29 Abingdon Street, Westminster, at the junction with Great College Street, looking north. Three- and four-storey Georgian houses, some with dormers. Number 18 has an unusual suspended angular bay projecting onto Great College Street which appears completely boarded up. Beneath this is a pointing hand sign or manicule directing people to the 'Gentlemen'. The ground floor has signs indicating that its offices are 'To Let', being handled by George Trollope & Sons, of 45 Parliament Street, SW1. In the foreground is a traffic island with two large and elaborately embossed bollards with a tall lantern-style street lamp. The street lamps along the road all have globular glass tops. None of these buildings survived World War II and all have been subsequently demolished. The land is now part of Abingdon Street Gardens.
