Description
Oblique view, looking north, of the front elevation of Brown's Hotel, 29-34 Albemarle Street, Piccadilly. The hotel was founded in 1837 and occupies a series of five-storey terraced houses, combined and unified under stucco. The high second-floor sash windows all open onto balconies with wrought iron balustrades and the third floor has balconettes. The central, projecting entrance porch is supported by Ionic columns and two taxis are parked outside. There are two large flagpoles, one at forty-five degrees above the porch and a larger vertical one at roof level.
