View of shop fronts at 2-16 Tooting High Street, Tooting, looking north. In the distance beyond Selkirk Road at 4 Tooting High Street is Picken Brothers, a cheesemonger's, with the name partially visible on the awning. Next to this at number 6 is Copeman W & E, a butcher's, with meat visible hanging from the shop. In the foreground the hanging sign for the Brewery Tap at number 16 is visible. Next to this is the entrance to Tooting Brewery at number 14, with a young girl facing the camera, and a group of young boys and men stood behind. Above them is a workman on the roof of the building, and a postal messenger with a bicycle is on the pavement below. To the right of the camera is a covered horse-drawn wagon facing the camera. All these shops have since been demolished and redeveloped into modern shop fronts.
