Description
A view across the railings and trees of Stepney Green Gardens, Stepney, with parked cars in the foreground. The former Stepney Jewish School, its Grade II listed Schoolkeeper's house, and Stepney Green Dwellings can be seen beyond the park. The Jewish School opened in 1906, closed in 1969, and has since been used as artists studios and residential accommodation. Stepney Green Dwellings, a tenement block built in 1896, were erected by the Four Per Cent Industrial Dwellings Company to provide housing for the poor, including many Jews.
