Description
A view looking east down Bow Road from end eastern end of the Mile End Road, Stepney. The building with the tower is the Grade II listed St Clement's Hospital, listing number 1251493) The hospital was opened in 1849 as the City of London Union Workhouse and later as the City of London Union Infirmary. It closed in 2005 following a decision to sell the site for redevelopment. It is a busy street scene with horses and carts, pedestrians, motor vehicles and a motorised topless double-decker bus. Two men in uniform can be seen riding bicycles.
