A view of the front elevation of a shop building at 140 Hoxton Street, Hoxton, looking into Wilks Place. The shop, Peter Brown male fashions, has two storeys of accommodation above. A man is visible at one of the upper windows. Beneath the other is the ghost of a sign. A third window on the top storey is blind. All the windows have peeling paint and some are cracked. The shop has doors at the side and at the rear, a vehicle entrance. Three vehicles are parked in Wilks Place including a Mini van. Visible behind is an apartment block called Rosalind House. In the 1890s, the street was called Wilkes Place.
